PUBG Console Experience Roadmap: A Smoother and More Powerful Gaming Experience
The developers of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS recently released the Console Experience Improvement Roadmap, which details several major improvements that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players will see in the coming months. This roadmap isn't limited to minor changes, but rather a major step towards improving the overall console gaming experience.
New Graphics Modes Coming to All Consoles
Two new graphics modes will be added to PUBG Console with July Update 42.2.Frame Rate Priority Mode will be for players who want smoother gameplay and faster response times. Resolution Priority Mode will focus on improved visual quality and sharper images. With this change, players will be able to prioritize either performance or graphics based on their preferences.
Loading Time Will Be Much Faster
The developers have confirmed that the loading speed of the main menu and lobby is also being improved. The experience, from game startup to menu navigation, will be faster and smoother than before. This will reduce player wait times and allow them to enter matches more quickly.
Hit Detection Will Be Majorly Improved
PUBG Console players have long complained that sometimes shots don't register despite accurate aim. Keeping this in mind, the developers are making changes to the hitbox and hit detection system.
However, this change will only be applicable to the console version. There will be no changes to weapon damage, recoil, or fire rate. The goal is simply to ensure that correctly fired shots register more accurately.
New Controller Control Scheme
With the addition of new features to PUBG over time, the control scheme has become quite complex. Now, the developers are developing a new default control layout.
The new scheme will make the controls simpler and more memorable. Additionally, older control presets will remain available, allowing older players to play with their preferred settings without any issues.
Current-Gen Consoles Will Take Full Advantage
In 2025, PUBG began focusing solely on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Now, the developers say that the game will be optimized to take advantage of modern hardware, delivering improved FPS, more stable performance, and a better visual experience.
What's Next?
According to the PUBG team, the July update is just the beginning. Control improvements, Hit Detection updates, and other console optimizations will be released in phases in upcoming updates. The developers have also stated that player feedback will be the key foundation for all future improvements.
